Biting Off a Lot…

So I have begun adding content to my new site, https://texihabara.com. It’s a very slow process because I’m going through the discography of several very prolific bands, which means I’ve got several hundred posts in front of me, and then we can add other bands, such as Ladybaby, Band Maid, Maximum the Hormone, and who knows what else. I’ve got thousands of posts ahead of me, and even if I knock out a few a week, that’s going to take me while. And that’s just music. Add in anime, manga, etc., and I’ve got me a full time project.

On the one hand, there’s nothing wrong with that. It’s good to have a hobby and a viable potential second source of income once I figure out how to monetize it, and this is one medium where, if I’m careful, I don’t have to worry even the tiniest bit about copyright violations. (If I chose to be a YouTube reactor, I’d have much more problems with that, and it’s one reason why I’m not bothering. That, and it’s done to death anyway).

On the other hand, man, is this gonna be a lot of work.

It’s worse because I’m being completely honest in my reviews. I actually reviewed a very popular AKB48 song very badly, because in my opinion, it wasn’t great. I have a feeling that once otaku discover the site, I’m going to get a lot of hate for that, but I don’t really care. If you can’t have my honest opinion on a review site, what’s the point of having a review site? There are other things I can add to mitigate that, but I’ve got a lot of content to slog through first.

But, you know what? I can’t think of a better way to become an expert on Japanese pop culture.

I really want to figure out how to add gacha into the site, though. That might be fun. But it’ll be insanely hard to pull off for many different reasons.

Oh well. Once more into the breach.
