Why I Don’t Like Stellar Blade

,

So, if you’ve been living under a rock, you might have heard of a game called “Stellar Blade”.  As near as I can tell, it’s a game that has very little of interest to it that isn’t a female body in various states of undress or skimpy dress.

That’s…  why I don’t like it.

Cutting right to the chase, aren’t I?

Okay, let me be clear.  It’s not out of any sense of morality.  The character, Eve, is beautiful, well drawn, well rendered, has lots of outfits apparently that show off lots of “skin”.  If I knew a woman like that and she’d have me, I’d, well…  how do the kids put it now?  Split her in half?  It’s not because I think she’s sexualized.  She’s a virtual character.  You can’t sexualize a virtual character.  The whole purpose for eve, the very reason for her existence, is to be sexualized.  So that, by itself, doesn’t bother me.

It’s the quotes in “skin” that I don’t like.

Eve is fake.

Yes, I know it’s a game, and the whole point is for Eve to be fake, but nonetheless, she’s fake.  She’s not a real person.  She has no smell, no taste, the only senses she has anything to do with are sound and sight.  And also, she has no senses of her own.  She doesn’t smell, she doesn’t taste…  she has nothing at all that makes her human.

I don’t like that.  I don’t want to spend hours staring at the tits and ass of a woman who doesn’t exist.

It’s rather disturbing, in my view, to feast one’s eyes on a woman that’s so beautifully and accurately rendered that one might be fooled into thinking she’s a real woman, when she’s nothing like a real woman.  She’s an illusion.  A mirage.  You see her from a distance, get closer, and there’s nothing there.

So… I’ll pass.  It’s her very beauty that makes me want to pass.  I’d rather go for a woman I can actually touch.
